How to Monitor?
How to create the most effective monitoring point for you?
For the best outcomes and most effective use of Monitor, users, whether farmers, graziers or agronomists, can generate unique monitoring points across their property or sites.

At recommended intervals, users are prompted to record data, including images in the app. This information is sorted alongside previous data to provide an ongoing and comprehensive comparison across time and seasonal changes.
Monitor helps you to form a better understanding of the long term performance of a monitoring point, and make better use of your natural resources with informed, data driven decisions, using only the camera on your smart phone.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, read on to understand how to initially build the most effective monitoring points in the app.

01
Find your point
Monitoring points are unique to each property and site. Depending on what you're hoping to measure, the "best site" will be different for all users. Find an area which is most indicative of the changes you're hoping to track, whether in the middle of a grazing area or a freshly sown paddock anywhere can be a monitoring point.
02
Mark your monitoring point
It's important to keep track of where you're monitoring, to ensure you get the best comparison over time. In the app you can create points in the exact location you're recording measurements from, giving you a map of your monitoring.

It's also a good idea, where possible to create a physical marker for the site, whether a steel post or a pile or rocks, recording data and images from the same location every time, makes for more effective comparison over time.
03
Record Data
Whether you're only taking photos or adding extra data measurements, set a frequency of monitoring and the app will remind you to get out and record data at designated intervals. Whether these recording times are weeks, months, or years apart, Monitor helps you to consistently record data to give a comprehensive long term record of your natural resources to improve your data driven decision making.
